Michigan DNR Statewide Snowmobile Map Ordering Information

The Michigan snowmobile trail map links are shown below. These maps are useful for trip planning purposes only; it does not show enough detail for snowmobiling on specific trails (see below for information on obtaining detailed trail riding maps). Snowmobile Trail Permits

Snowmobile Trail Permit:
In addition to registration of a snowmobile in Michigan or from another state or province, a person who desires to operate a snowmobile in this state needs to purchase a snowmobile trail permit sticker. The snowmobile trail permit sticker is valid for 1 year which begins October 1 and ends September 30 of the following year.

Snowmobile trail permits are available at the following:
On-Line at the DNR E-License Web site -Your sticker will be mailed to you within 7-10 days. OR Through the Michigan Snowmobile Association , or the Michigan Sunrise Side agents located throughout eastern Michigan. From DNR Operations Service Centers

Ontario Trail Permit Price:

2005/2006 Permit Prices
Before December 1st	$180.00
After December 1st	$230.00
7 Day Permit	$100.00
1 Day Permit	$35.00

Permit Placement:
The Trail Permit is valid only when permanently affixed in the approved areas so that it is fully visible to a person standing 10 metres in front of the machine on its centerline.

Snowmobilers Please
Slow Down - speed is a contributing factor in nearly all fatal accidents.
Don't drink - alcohol impairs judgment and slows reaction time. Make it 'none' for the trail.
